Ethiopia’s state-owned Internet use provider, a Ethiopian
Telecommunication Corporation (Ethio-Telcom), has begun behaving
deep-packet investigation of all Internet trade in a country.
The
country’s supervision recently ushered in new legislation that
criminalises a use of services such as Skype, Google Talk and other

a second misfortune in Africa (after Sierra Leone) during an estimated
1% of a 85m clever population.
Ethiopia has instituted countless restrictions on a digital village
in new years. The supervision has formerly sealed down Internet cafes
charity voice-over-Internet custom services and, in Dec 2006, done it
requisite for Internet cafes to keep annals of a names and addresses of
their business in an bid to clamp down on bloggers and other users
vicious of a regime.
The new law prohibits all VoIP trade along with audio and video
information trade around amicable media. The Africa Review reports that a
law also gives a supervision a right to check any imports of voice
communication apparatus and accessories.
The OpenNet Initiative, that marks Internet filtering and
surveillance, says in a news on Ethiopia that a nation already blocks
all blogs hosted during blogspot.com and during nazret.com, a site that
aggregates Ethiopian news and has space for blogs and forums.
